Post Newbie, nothing will work, CCS Errors

Hi,

Hoping someone can help. I've got an LG DVD Writer, I try to make back up copies but only get half way through ripping. I've tried Smart Ripper (at the start it gives a message about no APSI adapter detected, I downloaded latest version, no success still). I tried DVD shrink - no success, I tried DVD Decrypter - again no success. With both Smart and Decrypter it only gets 49% through the disc.

Is there something I'm doing wrong or is there something else I need, or is the burner I bought crap????

Please help I'm ready to put my fist through the screen.

Coldie

I have an LG burner & have no problems with good media (e.g. Ritek). So you can't rip the DVD using the burner or another DVD reader? Can you do anything with the LG (e.g. read DVD, CD, CDR, CDRW)? What OS?

Re-install the ASPI layer? Which ASPI are you using? i.e. in DVD decryptor, you are given the option of which to use.

LGs in my experience are excellent burners for both CD and DVD so unless you had lemon, I doubt it's the burner. Sounds like a software-related problem.

* EDIT: kudos to Lawsy for asking about the file system. one we all passed over but a good question.

what are your system specs? seems as though you hit some limit of those but I don't know your specs.

Thanks to everyone who responded, I got it working now. Perfect quality back ups coming out. A mate gave me the software he uses, DVD Decrypter 103 and nero 6. 45mins per copy.

I'm using XP home, 128mb ram (this week will be upgrading to 1gb ram solely for home video editing), 1.5ghz, 40gb ntfs hdd.

Again thanks to everyone for their help.
