Cant get audio i got every codec going, gordon knot pack 1.6, vorbis everything, any ideas? gspot doesnt idenify the audio codec?

Does GSpot even support MKV's?

Do you have MatroskaProp installed? If so simply right click and you can get the info on what streams/codecs the file contains.

Converting to XviD? You should be able to directstream the video.

Still think that it might be easier to use Graphedit, that way you can decode the audio and mux it along with the video into an AVI all in one go.

Yeah GSpot can't handle the matroska container as learned myself, it is limited to .ogm and .avi containers.

MatroskaProp, thanks celtic_druid thats good to know

I also think you shoudl be doing a direct stream copy- no point reencoding the video, its gonna take time, and more improtantly there is going to be some form of loss in quality even if it is only slight.

Im doing a direct stream but teh audio never works and ive tried every codec known to man. gonna try MatroskaProp now.

Graphedit wont open them becuase i dont have the nessasary filters?

I opened the avi I made from the MKV file (no sound) and it said that some of the streams in this file are in a unsupported format?

grrr
