Default Trouble Games?(i.e Splinter Cell?)

sponsored links

My friend and I just started in the PS2 scene...

His comp has a Pioneer A06/w Nero express...

I believe I read somewhere that Splinter Cell was a "trouble" game?

Sofar we have backed up copies of Max Payne 2, Rachet & Clank:GC, Jak 2, Freedom Fighters, Medal of Honor:Frontline, SSX3, LOTR:Return of the King and Manhunt (all backups of retail copies, btw)....it has been a flawless process sofar with no bad burns at all....

So I was wondering if there was a list anywhere of "trouble" games anywhere?

And if so, is there any way to "fix" them via, say, d/l a patch or perhaps go to a menu within Nero or maybe even d/l firmware to the A06?(I am just guessing)

Just so you know, I am *not* talking about going online with backup of DNAS-protected PS2 games.....up till now, making backups has been a simple "read-retail-disk-then-insert-blank-disk-then-burn-a-backup" affair and I wonder if there are any retail PS2 games that require a more complex backup process, or maybe even prohibit it entirely??

Any help you could provide in this matter is very much appreciated...

Thank you

K. Lee

As long as you have certain modchips there are no trouble games
Duochip, Magic V, DMS3, Messiah 2, and some others boot all PS2 games with no problems if installed properly on all versions of the PS2.

Magic 3, Magic 3.1, Magic 2, First apple chip, Swap magic disks and a few others have "problem" games. It also depends on what version of the PS2 you have too.

to klee, i have backed up freedom fighters with DVD decrypter and it gave me lots of bad sectors, it worked fine until i got to level 4 and it stopped working, it freezed. I want to know how you copied this game and if you applied a patch or something to this game to make it work.
