$0.68 in bulk!

So then, I take it there is no need to spend the extra cash for the price of G04s if you are only going to burn @ 1X-2X then? [/B]
Hi! I just got a Dell 8600 here in the US that has a dvd burner. After reading hundreds of posts in the past few days, I came to the conclusion that everyone is recommending the Riteck G03 media. I went to the US website above, but the media listed is DVD-, while my dvd burner is a dvd+ format burner. Can someone provide a link to a cheap, reliable dvd media? Thank you.

That is the reason why most of us have - format (or dual format burners) because -R is cheaper and generally a little bit more compatible. So +R is going to be more expensive. Anyways, try searching around Meritline, www.newegg.com, wwwallmediaoutlet.com For DVD+R I recommend discs that carry the Ricoh dye.

Unfortunately for me, Dell does not make dvd-burners, just dvd+burners. Mine was a free upgrade, and I don't really burn anything except to backup my files.

How can I tell whether a media has the Ricoh dye or not? It doesn't specify on the newegg.com site, and I assume all Ritek/Ridata are of Ricoh Dye.

so will the G04 generally be considered the replacement for the G03? or is Ritek introducing new low priced 2X media

There really isn't a huge price difference at any rate.....I'm just wondering out loud....

Yes, the G04 will ultimately replace G03. It kind of makes sense since the G04 can do everything that a G03 disc can and there isn't much of a price difference any more.
