Make a data disc and then you can use the dvdr disc as a drive, both nero and record now max can accomplish this.

are you trying to get the mpeg files read on a regular dvd player (not PC)? I ask because I'm trying to figure out how to do the same thing and am interested in people's responses.

As said to back them up, simply create a data disc.

To get them working in a standalone is a different story. That is unless it supports XviD/DivX AVI's and RAW mpg's. Also assuming that the AVI's are compatible.

I think what he wants to know is how to convert from divx.avi to DVD

Here is what I do

1) Convert the AVI to MPG with TMPG (rename the AVI extension to ASF so that TMPG will recognize if it wont see the AVI)

There are also some other AVI to MPG programs avail that do work but seem to take longer to convert.

2) Install TMPG DVD Author and load mpg's into this. This program is very self explanatory when using and shows you how much space you've used as you add mpg's. You can fit 4 VCD's on a dvd. TMPG Author also lets you create a menu which is pretty good to use.

Let TMPG Author do its magic as it converts the mpg's to VOB.... then burn back to a DVDR with Nero (DVD).

Grab a beer and thats it
