Default Drivers

I need proper drivers for the Liteon LTD163 and the Mistumi 48x5te. I have been searching for weeks and been without CDroms. I have windows XP pro, and Im getting very frustrated. The ones at drveguide dont work, and its as if the companies has disowned the products. In the device manager it says that the device driver was properly loaded, but the device cannot be found. Have removed it from the device driver and restarted, letting it re-find the device, and its the same result. It's as if they are improperly hooked up, but I really dont think they are, and ive checked many times, so the drivers are all I can suspect. Any help would be wondeful. Thank you so much.

No optical devices (CD-DVD players and burners etc) use drivers.

Windows has had native support for all optical devices since 95b.

Your problem has nothing to do with drivers, but rather the operating system not detecting the drives.

Just install them correctly using the right hierarchy (master or slave), and make sure they are enabled in the bios, displayed in My Computer and Device Manager.

Ok, well that simplifies that. Thank you. In the device manager it says this:
Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but cannot find the hardware device. (Code 41)

It's always loaded there, but I always get that message. Is there any way to fix this?

This doesn't tell you much more, but have a look at [url=http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/Default.asp?url=/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/prjk_dec_lgsc.asp]THIS.

Firstly, make sure that it has the correct setup as in master or slave, and ensure it is enabled in the bios.

Remove from device manager so the relevant files are deleted and reboot.

BTW, did you have any burning software installed and removed recently like EasyCD creator?
