Question A variety of questions from a newbie to this topic.

Hello all, I need advice.

I have a V8 ps2, It has a flip top with the swap magic disks (CD=3 DVD=2)

I want to make backups of my japanese import dance dance revolution games.

My computer is a 2.6 ghz, P4 (hyperthreading), 512 RAM, 120 gig harddrive and a
Hewlet Packard DVD+RW dvd burner. (and it is the only burner that I have access too)

After reading the forums for hours, I noticed many different people suggest many different strategies of backing up the ps2 games.

It looks like many people are copying the image of the ps2 game onto the PC harddrive, then burning the image to a blank DVD. Most are satisfied with this setup, however some people seem to have problems with it.

What dvd's do you suggest for my current setup?
Will dvd+r's work fine with my fliptop&SMD V8 ps2?

Hopefully you guys can help me out so I dont env up on wasting all my money on buying blank DVD's because I did the process wrong

Thanks A LOT!

I tried backing up one of my import ps2 games (CD based game) on a 700 meg CD. Didn't work. I used nero to create the image and burn to the CD at 4 speed.

Help, please...

Okay.. lets see if I can be helpful.
When you burn your PS2 cd based game, I think nero should burn it perfectly. Now, what was the source disk. Was it a PS2 cd to begin with? Assuming that was perfect too.. how are you booting the games? You stick swap magic cd in, when it says swap disk swap using the lid... and start? Since you have sm3 I dont think you will need cdloader or any of those extra programs listed at (hope url is allowed).

I image and burn DVDrs using DVD decryptor which is avalible free if you search for it in google. Disks? I dont know. Everyone says Ritek is good.. I burned one at 2x and my v4 ps2 didnt like it at all but my v9 ps2 read it fine so it might just be a ps2 preference thing.
