Post NHL 2004 / Fight Night DVDRips Won't Work?

sponsored links

I would appreciate anybodies assistance with the problem I am having...

I have a v7 PS2 with a Slide Card with Swap Magic 3.2. I have tried using multiple DVDRip (to CDR) versions of both NHL 2004 and Fight Night (all of which have worked on other peoples systems), but they both have the same identical problem: the game goes to the startup screen (where I can see the splash screen and hear the "EA SPORTS - it's in the game), and then begins to fill up the "loading" bar, but stops loading toward the end of filling the bar. I have given both of the games 20 minutes each to finish loading, but it is clear they are frozen at this point. I would appreciate it if anybody could give me any information about what I might do to resolve this problem. DVDRip (CDR) games such as Hitman 2 and SoCom II have worked just fine for me.

These are the solutions I have already tried, but to no avail:

a) Using different types of CD-R's, from highest quality to lowest quality.
b) Burning at different speeds on each type of CDR, from 1x to 20x.
c) Using CDLoader (which results in the same frozen load process).
d) Burning with different programs (i.e. nero, Alcohol 120%, etc..) with different settings, as suggest by multiple PS2 burning guides.

... If I am missing something here, please let me know. I want these games to work so badly. They both load to the splash screen and seem as if they are going to load fine but freeze. I think it is odd that this has only happened with EA Sports games, but maybe that has nothing to do with it. Once again, these DVDRips have worked fine my friend and his friends (who are the original rippers of these games, they are not warez).

Thank you in advance for any advice you guys can offer me. I really appreciate it.

Sincerely,

TiM

Well it seems to be a TOC issue. I bet both those RIPS are around 75-80 min each so they wont work with SM.

I have used rips that are bigger. So that is not the issue.
