Could someone help me with a CD-RW problems pls?

Hello, hope someone can help me here as im at a loss as to whats wrong!
I've searched everywhere and cant find any answers...
I have upgraded from a Samsung CD-ROM to a Mitsumi CD-RW CR-4802TE. The problem is i cant seem to get ANY burning software to recognise my new Mitsumi drive.....? I can play CD's on it, its just when i try to start any CD-burning software the software just freezes/locks up on me, every time.
so i cant actually burn to the drive.
I have the Mitsumi drive on the same cable as i had the Samsung drive, and the jumper is set to master, as it was on the samsung drive.
I have been to the mitsumi website and it said something about removing any lines from my config.sys / autoexec.bat files, relating to a CD-Rom.I have tried this, and didnt get anywhere. I have also emailed them asking which lines need to be removed but havnt had any replies.
My config.sys / autoexec.bat files are below.
