Default Newbie Idiot here

What I want to do is copy avi file movies and such from my Hard drive to my dvd drive to watch on television.
Any recommendations on how?

I would use TEMPenc an old program which lets you convert to vcd

I use serif dvd plus to covert avi and burn to dvd
or you could use ulead dvd movie factory 3

I prefer DVD2SVCD to convert to SVCD (even to DVD), better quality than VCD. You can also use MainConcept MPEG Encoder. In DVD2SVCD, if you can get CCE (basic is only $58) and use D2SRoBa (a plugin) the conversion is very fast and quality absolute.

try dvdsanta search on google lets you throw avi files in then reencodes and burns straight to dvd does mpeg and others too divx xvid
