sponsored links

I only got my dvd writer last week(using nero 6) and im doing a couple of backups of a few dvdr movies i got last week (they work fine on dvd player n pc, Not scratched or marked) but 2 of em say read error at certain points whilst reading the discs. Is there any way round this or once theres a read error on the disc, it cant be copied ?? Thx

DVD burners are sensitive to media more so than say CD burners are. ( BUT the same situation was true when CD Burners were new.) your read errors are more than likely the result of using media your burner doesnt like. if you have Nero then use nero CDDVD Speed in the nero toolkit to test the disc's you have burned. if yuu show alot of errors then you should try different media. your DVD Burner's manual should tell you what media the manufacturer reccomends.

ALSO Avoid cheap DVD media like the plague stick with well known name brands like maxell, verbatim, TDK, or Taiyo Yuden ( if you can find them)

instead of using nero try using DVD decrypter to rip an ISO image to your Hdrive, if that works just burn that image back to a blank, Ive found this to work when nero has done what you have described.

Nero is great for CDR's and audio mastering, but it really is in it's infancy when it comes to DVD's, and needs a while to mature and improve.

Currently, there are much better programs like DVD Decrypter as mentioned above, and/or SmartRipper.
