Default slot verses tray

I like the look and feel of the cd/dvd players (like in cars) that have a slot that you stick a disk in instead of the traditional tray that slides out. Why don't more manufactures make them for computers?

companies have been making them for years, well they did a couple of years ago. i haven't seen many recently, but they are supposed to be better, because of them having less moving parts.
