ok... im using a crossover cable as well... well actually it's called an xbox monster cable... that's a crossover cable right? well neways i connect it to my computer and xbox.... when i go onto my dashboard i look under network and it already gives me an ip and gateway address... the password is xbox... when i did everything u told me to do it still didn't work.... by the way i plug the cable up to the jack that would normally be used for internet... is that not right??? i keep hearing theese things about a nic card... whats that... how do i no i have 1?

right, if you get limited connectivity it means that a connection has been maxde but its not quite right, i had this also at the early stages of setting up my ftp. My problem was that my computers ip address was the same as the xbox one, you need to make sure you have manually entered the ip address on your computer, you can do this by clicking start > control panel > network connections. my nic has the ip address 192.168.0.1 with the same gateway as the xbox. then go to your evo x settings and change them to 192.168.0.2, your user name and password are both xbox. then just load up your ftp client and do what i said earlier.

about the nic, you will have one for your internet but you need a second one to connect the xbox. Or you can dissconnect the modem and use that ethernet connection, you will need to change the settings back to obtain ip address automatically when you want to use the internet as your manual settings will not work.

If this is all the info you can give me i can't really help anymore than this, it sounds like you have the right cable, aslong as its crossover you're ok.

thanks man it said connected and there was no limited connection or anything, but still when i tried connecting through flashfxp and cuteftp it didn't work.... why?!?!?!?!
