Default suddenly cant print from web page

I used to be able to highlight print on a web page, hit print, selection and print the text but yesterday it all stopped. The print option does nothing and print preview is grey. I can print from notepad and all other programs but not Explorer. I am using XP.

If it was only yesterday, you could try System Restore, or

Try to repair Internet Explorer.

Go to Add/Remove in Control Panel, and select Internet Explorer to uninstall and it will then give you the option to Remove or Repair.

Select Repair, let it finish and reboot.

If that doesn't help, try going to Tools, then Internet Options in Internet Explorer.

In the Security tab, highlight Internet, then select Default Level, then Apply.

Go to Advanced tab, Restore Defaults, apply, then O.K.

Close all your browser windows then open a new one and try to print or preview.

Explorer does not appear in add remove programs. System restore only shows as a blank page and I have already set defaults back to what they were but thanks anyway. Problem persists.Nothing on Microsoft database either that I can find.

When you're in Add/Remove, go to the third one, Add/Remove Windows Components and you will see Internet Explorer.

Uncheck it and click next and it should give you the option of repair.

Not sure how successful it will be but certainly worth a try.

Why won't it let you, what does it say exactly?

Try going to Start, Run and copy and paste the following

rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\Inf\ie.inf

You will need your Windows CD.

If that doesn't work, try System File Checker.

Go to Start, Run, and type in sfc /scannow

Again, you will require your Windows CD.
