Well, as I said in my previous post, I did uninstall Intel Application accelerator, checked my DMA settings through device manager and it was enabled, but with it uninstalled it was causing problems with my hard drive.
I've had IAA installed for about a year, and I haven't had any problems with burning slowdown untill recently.

So I guess its definetely enabled then....

when you have a burn fail through nero you can print the log off

just copy and paste it here

check the aspi layers using nero info tool

have you got nero INCD installed?

Well, I hardly ever have burn failures, I can't even remember the last time I had one.
Ok, I will burn something and then manually cancel it, I hope thats ok

I'm still not sure where the nero info tool is to check for the aspi layers?

no, i don't have Nero INCD installed.

you need to enable DMA in all of these for start(where applicable)

and for your aspi layers,
go to the toolkit/nero info tool.check aspi layers

you should have nero's own + system aspi (in which there are 4)

WNASPI32.DLL VER 4.71
ASPI32.SYS VER 4.71
WINASPI32.DLL VER 4.60
WOWPOST.E VER 4.60

yeah i noticed that as well, how some of them didn't have DMA enabled. I uninstalled Intel Application Accelerator so I could access the DMA settings through control panel.... But DMA is already enabled in the Primary and Secondary IDE Channel under ATA/ATAPI controllers. Thats the only place you need to enabled it correct?

Ok, I think we've found the problem. When I check the aspi stuff, for system it says its not installed and lists nothing, but it shows WNASPI32.DLL for Nero. So how do I install those 3 files?

This all seems so strange, ints not like i just installed any of the programs recently (Aplication Accelerator or Nero) they were working fine for over a year untill recently. And I haven't installed anything new recently either
