Default Aopen Combodrive 5232AAH Reading fine, but not writing

sponsored links

Hi, after upgrading my computer from 98 to XP, somehow my Combo drive stopped working properly. I tried updating the firmware, it let me do it once, but wouldn't let me install an even newer version.

The weird thing is, it reads perfectly fine. But when I use The latest version of Nero 5.x I get a SCSI error every time, even tryign me secondary, old burn drive READS fine, but doesn't WRITE properly.

Here's the log when I try to burn a CD in Nero:

I've tried reinstalling, checking the cables, Aopen Technical support. The only thing I was suggested that I haven't done yet is get a new cable, but I want to make sure it isn't some other problem considering that I'm reading from it just fine.
