Cheers for that m8 that was very helpful

Ok i can now get the laptop to share my main computers shared folders but cant get it to do vice versa.

i right clicked on my main computer in network places and searched for the laptop. The laptop comes up but when u double click on it or anything it says

"...laptop is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administartor of this server to find out if you have access permissions.

The network path was not found"

Any ideas how to resolve please ?

did you set a folder on the laptop to be shared ?

If the PC can see the laptop and vice versa, then you should only need to set the folders or a drive to be a shared one, also ensure you are looking for the laptop by its correct name on the main PC

turn off all your fire walls, check the names of the computor and laptop and reset your wep key on both machines to one you made up ...
(a 12 letter word ending with a number = 13 )
