Default HELP: PStwo/slim discs won't spin?

sponsored links

I only have swap magic discs and have glued down the switches for the lid. Was working fine but I just moved to FL and now the discs won't spin to load up. The laser move's but nothing happens with the disc and it just goes to the PS2 browser screen. Bad laser, disc motor?

Anyone know?

Thnx

sounds like either the laser or one of your ps fuses have gone.

Most of the time you will find that the laser eye will go milky when blown.

If you open her up and check for continuity with a test meter.
The link below will show you the fuse locations

other things to check is that your tracking and focus values are correct.
303 = 30k 683 = 68k 01D=100k

All the mainboard fuses checked out ok. Laser looks normal too [URL=********img.photobucket.com/albums/v158/AudiLikeA4/PS2_slim_laser.jpg]Pic of Laser

What do I test for the tracking? Is that the pots on the laser? I only see 2 DVD is 100k CD is 30k...where's the other one?

Thanks for the help

What happens if those are bad? I fit a new laser to my PS2 and it still didn't work...only $25 so no big deal. The laser move's, but I see no light coming out of it. What would cause that?

Hi yeah it definately could. I know it sounds silly but you did remove the anti static solder on your new laser didn't you?
