Sorry, guess I should be more specific.
Step 1: I record my Xbox footage through a dvd recorder.
Step 2: Finalize the disc using the dvd recorder.
Step 3: Put disc in computer.
Step 4: ....?
I just want the files to be in a format where i can edit them with windows movie maker, or vegas 5.

They are .VOB files, shown below. I need some kinda of conversion program. Something that will convert these files to mpegs or something....such a difficult problem.

The .vob files should be accompanied by .IFO and .BUP files, your .VOBS aren't currently associated with any program for playing the files, if you have powerDVD, the vobs can be played through it..

vob to mpeg... lots of software for that [URL=***********.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=vob+to+mpeg&meta=]HERE

How to edit VOB files [URL=***********.videoforums.co.uk/guide-edit-vob-mpeg-48.htm]HERE

BTW your best leaving the files on your PC for editing and then save them and burn them back to DVD when done

They are accompanied by .IFO and .BUP files, I've seen em' around in the folders. But I could careless about having them on dvd, so i just want to edit them. VOB to mpeg is exactly what I want. I'll look around and hopefully find a program that'll get the job done. Thanks for your help!
