Default Network cable unplugged

sponsored links

I have a cable modem hooked directly to my computer through the ethernet port and one day it stopped working. I get a network cable is unplugged message, I've tried a lot of things and can't seem to fix it. My modem works fine I tried using it on someone esles computer and it worked, the cable is fine also, the ethernet port is attached to the motherboard I think so i can't remove it but I bought an extra card and that gave me the same error message. I tried reloading factory settings on my system and anything else I could think of but nothing worked can somebody help me?

Red face

Check under System Settings in Control Panel that all the devices are working correctly.

I'm not sure if it's what you meant but under device manager I don't see anything wrong

Question

If you have tried these:

1) Plug in a new network card with a new cat 5 cable?
2) Tried disabling the network connection then re-enabling it?

Could it be that it is simply refering to a spare network port that is not currently in use and is therefore unplugged.
