Yep, if you don't have one, and you only have a recovery CD, then see if it has a repair feature.

the first step didn't work now i'm trying the second and i'm stuck in number 15

15. Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and then click Paste.
16. Locate the Autoexec.nt file, right-click the Autoexec.nt file, and then click Copy.
17. Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and then click Paste.
18. Locate the Command.com file, right-click the expanded Command.com file, and then click Copy.
19. Right-click the %SYSTEMROOT%\System32 folder, and then click Paste. Restart your computer

Where do i find that folder?

after i did the first step, the problem continued. Now i went ahead and rebooted the machine and tried burning and it gave me the same error as before. Then i ran nero info tool again and this time it didn't give me the:

C:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
C:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and microsoft windows applications. Choose 'Close' to terminate the application.

error.

I guess that took care of the windows 16bit thingy but the burning problem still there. Any suggestions? anything is greatly appreciated.

You have more than one problem. Don't let it worry you, I have plenty.

Anyway, the link I supplied is to fix the error message you were getting, not the burning problem.

For the burning problem, go back to Device Manager and read my previous reply.

There should be no errors, ? or !.

Update your motherboard and chipset drivers.

Forget BelArc for the moment.

Everest has only just been discontinued last week, so it's up to date.

You can get the latest free version from HERE.

It will tell you what your motherboard and chipset is, and supply links for drivers.

That should hopefully fix Device Manager and any other issues.
