First problem I can see, although it's probably not related to your issue, is that your system ASPI is corrupt.

Use Force ASPI to remove it. XP does not need an ASPI layer. (It looks like you tried to install Adaptec ASPI?)

Did that version of Nero come with the Sony or did you have it supplied with another writer?
My guess is that you have a OEM version of Nero that will only recognise the drive it was supplied with. Especially as the Sony is fairly new & Nero 6.0.0.0 is very old.

I added the software after. The computer came with Sonic. I think I screwed up my computer by uninstalling Roxio and Sonic. I had both programs on my computer. My computer stopped burning and reading CD after that. What is funny, it will read and burn DVD's.

I am stumped. The LED light on the CD Rom drive used to be green it is now amber. Below is my info for storage under system information.

Nero can be very difficult to remove.

They have a utility available on the Ahead site called Nero Clean Tool.

Use it to completely uninstall, then reinstall Nero.

If that fails, what does the Nero Info Tool say (in the Nero Toolkit)?
