Thumbs down Limited Or No Connectivity!

sponsored links

Hi All,
I wonder if I can get some info here, as I haven't had much luck with my ISP (AOL) I'm running with 2meg broadband, have done for the past four years.
I was downloading the other day, went to make a cup of tea came back and there was this dialogue box saying " No DNS Servers available"?
and my network connectiviy stating limited or no connectivity. I un-installed AOL and the broadband drivers, cleared all registry entries, re-installed AOL plus broadband drivers. but no luck, still no connectivity. I am wondering if MS as done something to my connections? I have changed my computer name also changed MAC-address but to no avail. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Only quick thing I can think of is a damaged WinSock layer, which some programs or viruses can do.

Try something like LSPFix, ***********.cexx.org/lspfix.htm AND/OR ***********.wikihow.com/Repair-Winsock-and-TCP/IP

However, best thing to do is contact your ISP's support.

Default internet keeps dropping out

Hi,
I have the same problem if i connect to internet through my Belkin wireless g router. if i connect directly to my cable modem then it is fine, but when i connect via the router, it keeps dropping out of internet connection and i have to unplug them to get back on. I have been in touch with belkin but none of their solutions have worked so far. Same with telewest as i am on blueyonder broadband.
At one point yesterday, i could not get onlina at all and telewest said i needed to do a full winsock reset. it has dropped out twice whilst typing this. Help!!!!

Stdcity,Unplug your cable modem and router if you have one for 30 seconds. Sometimes modems and routers need to be reset in this fasion from time to time.

As far as you jrwright, do you have a factory reset button on your router? If you do, hold it in for a few seconds and return it to factory settings. Also, make sure your router isn't surrounded by things blocking the signal. A wireless router should be put up as high as you can without obstructions.
