Default Who here is smart and cool? I'm want to get my PS2 mod

sponsored links

Then please...if you are smart and cool, help me!!!

I'm want to get my PS2 modded (its the old version, not the slimline) and I know NOTHING about getting it modded.

So...please answer all my questions

1. Why are there different types of modchips?

2. Do different modchips have any different effects from them?

3. Does ANY back-up/burned/bootleg/modded games work on ANY type of modchip?

4. Do different modchips require different back-up/burned/bootleg/modded games? For instance, I'm just making a scenario, if there's a 'Crystal' modchip, and then there's a 'Emerald' modchip, do you have to buy 'Crystal' modded games to play on the 'Crystal' modded PS2?

5. Can you download PS2 games off the Internet? I have a friend who says he downloads PS2 games off the Internet and burns them onto a disc and can then play them on his PS2. Is this true?

6. Can you still play original store-bought games if you get your PS2 modded?

7. Can you still play online with your original store-bought games even if you get your PS2 modded?

8. Can you play modded/burned/bootleg PS2 games online?

Please answer all my questions clearly so that I can understand. I'm 25 years old and my children are always telling me getting the PlayStation 2 modded is a great choice. Thanks for your time!

Hi,

In response to your various questions,

1: There are different kinds of modchips because there are originals and clones, obviously originals are better.

2: You get what you pay for and if I were you I would buy a matrix infinity.

3: No, some of the cheap and nasty ones wont boot all backups.

4: Simple one here: NO!

5: Yes you can, try www.torrentleech.org

6: Yes

7: Yes but only with the ones you can disable.

8: You can with some of them but you may have to "Patch" the game first.

Finally, unless you are competent at soldering, dont try an install yourself as you'll end up with a non working ps2.

Hope this helps

Yes, thank-you very much, sir.

And to get downloaded PS2 games to work on your PS2, you have to get your system modded first, right?

And what do you mean by 'disable'? Can my original PS2 games still play online if my PS2 has been modded?

Yes you need the system modded first, and if you are in th UK i can do it for you as can ghost or vr6. In answer to your second question, if you have for example a matrix infinity, you can disble the chip and play your original online. Or you can patch the game and play the backup online.

If you need it modded, please let me know.

Keith

You'll need to go here: ***********.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_patches.shtml and get what you need along with a patch engine, also available there. Follow the instructions and away you go.
