Default networking xbox to pc

sponsored links

i am attempting to network my xbox to my pc.
all of the guides that i have read have required me to run an rj-45 through a router/hub/switch.
my question is if i can run a cable directly from my nic card in my pc to my xbox or will i have to buy a router/hub/switch.

also note that my internet connection is currently obtained by a wireless card in a seperate slot.

Default Crossover

If you are not using a HUB/SWITCH you will need a crossover RJ45 lead, then run the home netowkring wizard and share your wireless connection. doing this will give your xbox an ip address from your main pc acting as a router.

hope that helps
