My husband is using Windows 98, the drive plays disks, music and loading programs. We had no idea there was a G drive until the computer started to go haywire

Have any programs been installed that add a virtual drive, several burning programs will add one, and this is what it could be.

Also what drives have you installed one or more HDD drives and one or more ROM drives.

And are the drives you know are installed being displayed correctly in explorer.

If you only have one HDD this will be C drive (the drive Win98 will be installed on), the ROM drive will be D drive, are these drives still displayed as C & D in explorer.
