Question My system restore isn't working

sponsored links

I have tried to use the sytem restore numerous times and i still can't get it to work. It looks like it's restoring and then it when it gets done ( which is like in a few seconds, when it's not supposed to) it restarts and i get a message saying the system restore was incomplete. I tried different restore points and it still doesn't work. I have only used the restore 2 times.

I'm assuming this is XP?

It's probably just a corrupt Restore Point.

Turn it off completely, reboot, then enable it and create a Restore Point.

That should fix it.

If you're unsure of how to turn it off, go to Start, Run and type in sysdm.cpl then OK.

In the System Restore tab, check "Turn Off System Restore", Apply then OK.

Default Pls help, similar problem

Hi, Im just trying to follow this thread to fix system restore but notice if you turn-off system restore it warns you that any previous restore points will be lost. Im a bit concerned as obviously I want to restore to a few days ago or further when it was fine, but if I loose all previous restore points and just create a new restore point from today how can I go back to a previous point when it worked fine.. Please help.. Russell Ward (russellward69@hotmail.co.uk) thanks
