Question XP Service Pack 2 Problems

sponsored links

I tried installing XP Service Pack2 using automatic update. It starts its process and then stalls/stops. I get an error message " Access denied" and the install stops, Then it goes through the process of erasing and restarting. I though I would get smart an order the disc from Microsoft. When I tried to install the update via disc I get the same results.."Access denied".

Any ideas on why this is happening?

It's a Compac computer and I'm running Norton AV, Webroot Spy Sweeper.

Thanks for any help,

Pete:

You'd be best off slipstreaming service pack 2 and doing a fresh install
