Default XP : double mystery : improper properties

sponsored links

## XP : double mystery : properties
## Mystery Number 1 :
I have folders of MP3 files on my HD.
Normally they slumber peacefully on the HD without any problems.
Recently, I noticed some of the tracks do not keep their correct details.
The Bit Rate is shown as blank. ( it was formerly 160kbps).
And these bad tracks cannot play, or be copied or renamed.
Also their properties drop-down has the wrong menu!
The FOLDER propetries also shows fewer files than are actually
present.( the folder file total is now for the "good" files)
##
## Mystery Number 2 :
If I copy the above "rogue" folder of MP3 files
to somewhere else on my HD . then, AMAZINGLY,
the original track details re-appear, and the Properties
boxes at file and folder level revert to their correct state.
##
## I have had full clean scans ftrom AVG8 ( and Avast ).
I have had clean reports from SPYbot and Ad-Aware.
# I have done chkdsk on the drive ( twice ) and it shows zero bad sectors.

# Any suggestions as to cause and how to fix ?

Default dual-booting needed

Ur question is not really on the topic i proposed.
I believe you need to do what is called dual-booting.
You have to make a new partition(or whatever it is called in vista)
then get an XP CD and install XP onto the new partition.
It'll take an houtr
In cosequence ur boot.ini file will have two systems
one for vista and another for XP
and after you power on u will be able to select XP.

BUT I am certain if u search on vista and xp and dual boot
u will find plenty of help 4 ur problem.

I am in no hurry to adopt vista.
