WOW imageguy2001,

That was some good info! you clarified a bunch of stuff!
All I really want is MTV and TechTV! what do you recommend I should do? all I have right now that can be of any help is a PC and an RCA Dish and Receiver (DirectTV Plus) So pretty much I'm starting from scratch. What kind of equipment do I need? Are those All in one Programmers any good? If yes Which one? How much is an H card? How much money would I need to do all this?

Thanks for your help!

You should not even bother, since you need a subscription card ID to make any of this work right now it would not help you too much because you would get those channels anyway with a subscription. You would be better off getting a cable descambler because that would be a one time cost with no learning curve. Now if you wanted all the movie channels and the NFL Sunday Ticket and such then it would be a different story. I saw someone in this thread say an H card was $200 but I don't know because I got mine years ago, you can look on Ebay there is always someone selling the systems there. An unlooper will cost you ~100 bucks (same for a loader) and can be flashed (applying code to the chip) to be an unloooper, loader and even programmer if nessecary, the 3-1 just has dip switches to toggle between the different uses. You can go to SAT50 (add the www dot com) if you want to find a dealer or go to dssware (usually number 1 in the sat ranking) for forums, how-to's, trusted dealers, files and news.

I have a T5 which is decent but a good loader like a Mikobou will glitch faster. To use it, you connect a serial cable from the loader to your PC and a power cable. Then use software like Extreme HU to program.

I'm a newbie here and I need some advice. I have Direct TV and I would like to know how to go about programming my own cards. I currently have an HU card. I would like to know what the best programmer is available to do so. I am thinking about getting a Multi-Loader/Emulator combo from *********** but they won't answer any of my questions until I buy it. I want to make sure this will work and is what I need. I want to be able to make a new card if mine gets fried. Am I on the right path?
