Question Reading an .iso file on an external hard drive/ desktop

sponsored links

Hi,

I am looking for help to find a solution to read the .iso files which a friend copied from my CDRoms to my external hard drive, since my computer's CD/DVD charger is bust.
I am running on a Mac iBook G4, OSX 10.4.11, processor 1.4GHz PowerPC G4.
When I try double-clicking on the file directly from the external hard drive, or from my desktop where I copied the file to, a Warning window appears stating that "The following disk images failed to mount. Image:xxx . Reason: not recognized."
The default program which is being used to try and open the file is DiskImageMounter, although this program does not appear in my Applications.

If anyone knows a solution, preferably free, then I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Hannah
