Default intel xeon in windows xp 32 bit?


 
hi,
i planning to buy a hp server that came with intel xeon quad core 2.6
but i donīt know if windows xp professional edition 32 bit will run properly
with this kind of cpu...
with this kind of cpu is needed a version of 64 bit? or the 32bit wil run nice
as well?
and if i buy a 64 bit version my app that is designed for 32bit will run?
what is the diference for the software? the software will use all cores
available?

32-bit Windows XP will run fine.

But, if you choose to switch to a 64-bit OS go for Windows 7. With proper settings many 32-bit apps will run under a 64-bit OS.

The world is moving to 64-bit so you might as well move with it.
