Edit Canon EOS 5D Mark II Videos in Windows Movie Maker in HD

Canon EOS 5D Mark II includes 21.1 full-frame CMOS sensor and also enables video recording with 1080p MOV. Even though Canon EOS 5D Mark II does a great job in still photo shooting, the video shooting could not be ignored. If you are trying to put the Canon EOS 5D Mark II video files to the free Microsoft Windows Movie Maker software for creating family videos, you may face problem, as WMM does not support loading the .mov video.

To solve the problem, you just need a Canon EOS 5D Mark II video converter to convert the .mov files to .avi for editing in Windows Movie Maker. Aunsoft Video Converter is the recommended 5D Mk II MOV converter to convert 1080p MOV in HD quality, making the videos compatible and readable by Window Movie Maker.

Follow the steps below, and you will find the quickest solution to convert Canon EOS 5D Mark II 1080p video files to Windows Movie Maker (WMM) supported formats.

Step 1. Load Canon MOV files to Aunsoft Video Converter.
After transferring .mov files from Canon EOS 5D Mark II to computer hard drive, run Aunsoft Video Converter as the best Canon to Window Movie Maker converter, and click the "Add" button to load .mov videos. Alternatively, you may drag and drop the .mov files to program UI.

Step 2. Choose output format.
Click the "Format" option, and navigate the mouse cursor to Common Video > AVI MSMPEG4-V3 (*.avi) as output format. The Canon video converter will transcode 1080p MOV to AVI with original resolution 1920x1080.

As Windows Movie Maker also supports .wmv, .asf, .mpg files, you can choose WMV3 (WMV9)(*.wmv), WMV2 (WMV8)(*.wmv) or ASF (VC-1)(*.asf) from the Common Video group with original video resolution. To get .mpg for Windows Movie Maker with 1080p, you may choose HD Video > MPEG-2 HD Video(*mpg) for 1920*1080 video.

Step 3. Convert Canon EOS 5D Mark II MOV to AVI/WMV for WMM.
Click the convert button under the preview window, and the Canon video converter will start converting Canon EOS 5D Mark II 1080p family videos to Windows Movie Maker compatible formats like AVI, WMV, ASF and MPG.
When the conversion is finished, it is easy to import Canon EOS 5D Mark II videos to Windows Movie Maker for editing and create family videos.

1. If you would like to put your DVD videos or even Blu-ray videos to Windows Movie Maker for editing, you may try Aunsoft Blu-ray Video Converter Ultimate to import almost all media files.

2. If you are on a Mac computer with Mac OS X like 10.4 Tiger, 10.5 Leopard and 10.6 Snow Leopard, and would like to put Canon videos to iMovie, Final Cut Pro or FCE for editing, just use the Mac Canon video converter.
