All in, it takes me around 3 hours.

Rip with CladMdec 1.5c
Then use DVD2AVi
Then TPMGenc
and finally Nero to burn.

WinXp, AMD 1.2 and 512DDR

In conclusion the best way to to encode before u go to sleep and let ur computer run till morning, that way u can get the best quality. I mean in 8 hours u can get good encoding quality , plus u won't have to sit there and wait for it to finish so u can do something else with your computer .

if you can afford it the best/fastest way is hardware encoding.

mine take about 5-6 hours on athlon 1.3Ghz

I do all mine at the highest encode quality though

U have to make the decision QUALITY/TIME TAKEN???

I rely on Quality only so am not bothered if it takes 20 hours to encode

4 hours is not alot.
