Ok so we've established (from the majority of ppl who replied) the fact that it takes ages but there are ppl who are doing it, just look at the buy/sell forum at the guys who are selling them - their lists are massive!!!What is the secret???
I suppose you could buy from them and copy them if you wanna flog them on but i didn't spend £1200 for nothing, I'm not givin up my friends so I need all the help I can get and Im sure there are others who would like to get this issue solved......so any help appreciated please. I even looked for an mpeg/vob compresser, they dont exist DOH!!!!!

Athlon XP 1800+, 512 MB DDR 2100, two IBM Deskstar 60GXP raid 0 here.
It's not the memory, your settings I think. I can't imagine how awful could be a 4,5 hours encoding with ReMPEG2...

I`ll put this matter to a swift close.

ReMPEG2 and the guides are a lot of crap. Total B****** and no good. Sorry Richard, this includes yours as well.

I`m not going to tell you how I produce my DVDs because thats how I make my money, but I can say this I don`t use ReMPEG2 never bloody heard of it

Hey your oppinion is your own, and your welcome to it. You don't have to tell me how you do it. Its painfully obvious that those had to have been VCD's (or similar format) put on DVD with MyDVD or DVDit. I can't imagine how crappy the image quality on your stuff must look compared to a normal DVD.
