The highest possible VCD is just as good as an SVCD. Having just got Rat Race SVCD DVD Screener off someone I can safetly say the Quality is quite good however still the fast pace action scenes still seem to struggle at times where my self ripped vcds don't!

Just my opinion though!

SVCD playback is dodgy. On DVD players you have to have SVCD marked to play it. Everyone hasn`t got these DVDs as SVCD wasn`t a standard when most DVD players came out.

PC playback you have to download latest updates etc so you can play it.

My personal views on VCD against SVCD

1) VCD is more compatible with current systems
2) VCD takes a shorter time to produce
3) SVCD is only better if you can`t produce high quality VCD
4) Again I`ll challenge ANY SVCD producer to my quality against that of SVCD.

All what this talk about is because of LOTR which was a low quality SVCD. It was just the fact that it was the best screener that had ever been released.

VCD is low quality if you use the templates floating around
SVCD is higher quality if you use the templates as a standard
DVD is higher quality than all of them

If you look in the BST it`s all SVCD this and that from sellers that can`t even rip open a crisp packet let alone rip a DVD.

What are the steps needed to create a high quality VCD if the templates don't do the job? What settings do you use?

Being honest, thats one thing I wouldn`t help no one on, basically because I am a seller. I love seeing people mess around with all of this.

There`s too many sellers in the market and too many rip off merchants, no offense towards yourself, but there`s too many people that just want to get there the easy way rather than working to gain high results.

If I buy a game, then I dont use a cheat so I can finish that game, I`ll play it until I complete it. Cheat codes and passwords are the easy way out.

If I said I do x y and z then I`ll have every tom dick and harry doing x y and z already a crowded market on CDs and will be eventually with DVDs so I`m keeping my market to myself for as long as possible.
