Default DVD's are jumpy in winXP

sponsored links

Hey, I just built a new system...

WinXP
Athlon 1600+ w/ 256 ddr
Radeon w/ 64 meg sdram

I can't imagine the system being the reason why my dvd playback is jumpy, but I have no other idea why... I am using the updated drivers for my Radeon and the updated DVD player from ATI as well, both compatible with XP. I was trying to find where to check if DMA was enabled for my dvd drive, but I couldnt find the settings for it anywhere, any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

What DVD Rom drive are you using? I bought some generic one and it played like sh*t on my 1 Ghz T-Bird, but my DVR-A03 plays movies perfectly.

I had a problem similar to that, the problem was my sound card thats built in to my board loads this software instead of the standard systray(volume controls etc) so if you unload that from memory it works fine.

im not sure what kind of dvd drive it is... but it came with my Dell when I bought that, in which DVDs would play beautifully. So when I built my new system, I took the DVD drive out of my Dell and threw it into this... Could it just be that ATI's dvd player sucks?
