Default If I Bought A Ps2 Today, What Version Would It Be?

I LIVE IN THE UK AND IF I WENT TO THE SHOPS AND PURCHASED A PS2 TODAY, WHAT VERSION WOULD IT BE? I NEED TO KNOW THIS BECAUSE I WANT IT TO BE COMPATABLE WITH THE R-MOD.

I bought one Wednesday - v5 30003R. I stuck an R-Mod in yesterday and it works fine (apart from the problem with 80min cdrs which is a known downside)

Bought it from Game - although its worth pointing out that they had very few left so it may mean the next batch will be v6.

Chances are it'll be a V5 (3000xR) although I see the V6 is now being produced, though it's probably not in the stores yet.

So far as I'm aware the main problem with the V6 is for the "no-solder" mod as one of the ribbon cables now has the pins on top (no doubt altered mod boards are being produced at this minute)

if i waited and bought a ps2 in a couple of months time do you think threre will be an r-mod for it?
