Hi guyz
When puttimg a few films on to vhs some appear to turn out in black & white

Is it that my dvd player is unable to play these in colour or my video can`t record in colour???

any ideas plz

Or can i convert the movies to play in colour or is this a long winded way and i should buy something new

what about maybe a tv-out card

I had the exact same problem with mine. I solved it by making sure the output from DVD player was in PAL and not AUTO or NTSC. If you are not in a PAL region obviously you will use different settings.

My Video won't record NTSC and since my DVD was on NTSC output, it was black and white for me.

Look at your DVD settings mate.

So it may sound like that my video recorder may not be able to record ntsc
because when i play it back it does tend to flicker

So Does NE 1 else have any idea what brand or model of vhs player will allow me to record ntsc

Can't you change the DVD settings to output in PAL mode?
Then you won't need to change Video Recorders.

Should have output options like :- NTSC
PAL
PAL 60
AUTO

Mine record fine on Both PAL settings.

Checl your DVD manual.

I have is NTSC Or PAL nothing else this is all I can select

i have a philips dvd 751 model

Also i have 2 scart sockets at back of my tv,

when i plug it in 1 socket films play in B/W

when in the other socket in tv the films play in Colour
but the film still gets recorded in B/W

So I think it must be now my vhs recorder thinkng about it
as just looking in the manual it tells me Pal system only

You have changed the output to PAL and Have your DVD connected to the Video by a SCART lead. When you record it should be in colour. Are you using a full SCART lead with all pins?

That is the setup I use and my video is at least 5 years old.
