Have you tried dragging the .dat file to your hard-drive then using nero to burn to cd?

(I havn't heard of any vcd that has a protected mpg file)

You could also try here

Get a program called VCD Gear it will rip your VCD DAT file to an MPEG file which you can drop into Nero. VCD's are not copyright protected. goto

I got the same problem with disk 1 of we were soldiers using disk juggler and nero( cant read the vcd) cant copy the .dat file to hard drive either. i reckon it it just the disk itself, probably defective. but i was able to copy it with clone cd as it makes a 1-1 copy still cant get the .dat file from the copy but i can now copy it.

To try and stop people copying VCD's some people have been using Over Burn when buring VCD's, this sometimes creates errors on the CD near the end so it becomes difficult or impossible to copy. Just check and see how much of the Cd is full, if it is over 800mb then it is probably Over Burned.

VCD gear will copy the dat file to your hard drive as an mpeg, then drop it in to nero vcd, Ive done it with WWS, its a useful program to have.
