Default TV out Problem, Please Help! ********

sponsored links

I have an ATI 7500 Radeon which features a TV output. I connect it to my TV so I can watch movies which I downloaded on a bigger screen. The files are .avi.

Everything seems fine when I connect it together. I see my windows desktop on my TV. But when I try to play a movie full screen the TV goes blank. The movie is still playing fine on my computer montior but the TV is blank. Once I stop the movie I can again see me windows desktop. Why can't I watch the movie on my TV? What is it about the movie that it will not show on my TV?

Any input and help would be greatly appreciated.

I have installed it. But I'm not using the ATI player to view the movies. Do you have to use the ATI software?

Here's how you fix it. You CANNOT put the television output as secondary, any video being played back will be black. Don't ask why, it's probably some sort of bug.

What you're supposed to do is make the monitor AND television both primary display in the ATI display properties. It should then work perfectly.

Thanks Gambit - You're absolutely right. It worked.

Ati must have screwed up again. I've heard numerous things about how bad their drivers are and I guess this is another one.
