Jokes belong in the Chat folder (a joke is not a computer fact but a chat). However, this topic is computer related news (actually video game related) which I would agree was properly posted here or in the Consumer Opinion Forum. It is not exactly a Consumer Opinion but other than Open to All Topics, IMHO it fits best there (if you visit the Consumer Opinion Forum you will find that the these types of things are discussed frequently there.

Veterans or Newbies has nothing to do with it only moderators make the final decision what goes where, but a veteren or newbie can offer advise (and be correct). Don't let a coincidence make you assume all veterans are alike or all newbies are alike. However, it is reasonable to assumne that in general veterans know the rules and the various forums better than new members. BTW, I did not complain about where you posted your other topic, only offered you some friendly advice. Visit the Chat folder and you can decide for yourself where you think the other topic fits.

Keymaster makes a very valid point. Jokes of any kind belong in the chat folder. Computer related news is often posted here and so long as members don't start flaming one another over it, it will stay open. This was originally posted over 4 hours ago and if the moderators didn't think that it belonged here we would have moved it or closed it hours ago. Sometimes it is very hard to decide exactly where a thread belongs, however we just use common sense and try to pick the best fit. By the way, welcome to the forum, Postmaster.

Postmaster, welcome to the CDROM-Guide. Have just checked the interesting link you posted. In addition to Ninetindo's experience (which they could buy anyway by hiring key employess) and eliminating a competitor (when their real compeitor is Sony), it would have made the Xbox much more acceptable to the critical Japenese market.

Furthermore it would have provided an important marketing counter argument to consumers who doubted Microsoft's ability to produce and market a game console. In other words they would be buying repectability and a Japaneze pedigree which could be more important than the experience they would purchase (they seem to have done well without the additional experience).
