slow internet connection should not be an excuse for not downloading (unless its something like a dust gathering 28.8k modem). the biggest DC game i ever Dl'd was quake 3 at about 630/660 mb.
these days i regularly dl 650mb pc isos and 1.2gb+ movies and with a 56k modem LOL
Yeah, well, I have to disagree. Slow internet sucks. If you live by yourself and/or have 2 phone lines than it may not be so bad. Hell, even living on my own I wouldn't d/l big dc games on 56k. Before I got my fast internet, I pretty much only bought backups off the BST forum.

I love my fast internet. I can't imagine living without it anymore.

To boredskater, find out what games you're thinking of getting and either ask us or check out www.isonews.com for the nfo to see what's been ripped. For the most part I wouldn't worry about it too much.

It's not bad at all. All mono does is it takes every sound that comes out of either the left or the right and makes it come out of both. It's hardly noticeable, if at all.

Also I wouldn't pay more than $3 per backup ($3 is kind of a lot for something that's free), and if you're trading originals as you say, don't trade 1 for 1. Originals are worth more.

if you are really worried about losing quality in a game, why not just buy the original at a store?? Since its a free game, does it matter if sound is in mono, or video bitrate has been reduced slightly?
