Unhappy Cd writer not recognizing disks in the drive

sponsored links

Recently I just had a second hard drive installed. Now my
cd writer isn't working and for me its wierd.
I will hit eject on the tray and it ejects, I hit the button again and it pulls disk into drive, light flashes green while it reads like it is suppose to and then to amber when its done like its suppode to
and then this is the kicker..... I get insert blank disk message.
I know the disks are blank. In Clone Cd I get the annoying
DING DONG sound waiting for a disk even though one is in it.
So in short my cd writer is not acknowledging a disk in the drive

Please HElp. Yamaha 2100E, Firmware 1.0N
Windows 98Se

I use Cdrwin, Clone, Nero, Adaptec and they
are all giving me the same error message

Thanks Clayahuna at ctinclay@aol.com

Strange as we had a similar post like this not long ago & Camel Toe is having probs with his that are similar.
However since you were just inside the case the first thing I would check is the cables. You may have simply knocked the IDE cable to the CDRW loose.
If that's not it let us know and we'll try something else.

Problem Solved. LOL!!! The drive just needed to be cleaned.

Blew out two chunks of Dust Bunnies. Working great as usual
then. Right On!!

Hi Hoss,
My friend has a Yamaha 4260 Pro CdWriter,It says Traxdata but made by Yamaha as if you look for the Traxdata 4260 there isn't one as I have looked.

He has just brought some cdr's from Comet and it won't write at all,He can save image to hard drive from his Teac but can't record anything. It starts off recording but then says failed half way through.
He has just put software on but I think it could be too old and doesn't support his writer as the YAMAHA 4216 is quite old now isn't it.
He has just installed old cdr win,But he has installed New Nero so that should work shouldn't it???

Hoss Have you any Idea's or know where he can Upgrade his Firmware Best Regards Gareth.
