yea but think of how much trouble youll go through with the legal issues. To me it would just promote even more piracy.

Yeah, you are right about piracy, but piracy has been going on long before computer piracy, with audio and video tapes. There is no way to stop it. However, If I were a movie company, I would get in on it before it's too late. Drop the prices of dvd's, or help to develop the standalone divx player and charge about 4 bux for a movie. People would go for that. But the percentage of pirates are way lower than paying customers right now anyway. All of us on this board only backup our previously owned software right?

there is already a stand alone divx player out. I saw it a couple of months ago. I don't think the creator will make a mint though cos it's well expensive and is basically a computer unit with just the right equipment for playing divxs and tv out!
